HOLIDAY TRASH DELAY
Monday, February 20 is Presidents’ Day. Trash & Recycling collection will be delayed one day. Trash collection will be Tuesday through Saturday.

 

 

 

Trash Bills/Stickers/Permits

Trash Bills/Fees:
Trash bills are issued annually and must be paid by July 1st.   The base annual fee is $150 for each residence.  Senior discounts may be applicable.  Services are provided by Collector’s Office at Town Hall (Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm).  Payment of this fee provides for weekly curbside collection of trash and recycling and seasonal collection of yard waste including Christmas trees.   Payment also allows use of the Trash & Recycling Drop-Off Center at 257 Ivory Street and the Compost Drop-Off site at 225 Plain Street as long as you obtain a valid sticker for your vehicle.  This sticker also includes parking at Sunset Lake.

Trash Stickers:
A Resident Trash Sticker is required to use the Trash/Recycling Drop Off Center at 257 Ivory Street and the Compost Drop Off site at 225 Plain Street.  The Sticker cost is included in your annual trash fee and can be obtained at the Treasurer/Collector’s Office at Town Hall (Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM)

To obtain a sticker, please bring a copy of your car registration with you when you pay your trash fee and a sticker will be provided at no additional cost.  (Car registration must be to the same address as the trash fee)
The sticker must be placed on the driver’s side of your car windshield.

Excess Trash - One Load Permits:
The Drop-Off Center and the Curbside trash pickup are intended for normal, weekly household trash.

Residents can also purchase a special "one-load permit" at a cost of $25 from the Collector’s Office at Town Hall (781-794-8130 Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm).    This permit allows a pick-up or S.U.V. load up to 500lbs to be brought to the Drop-Off Center.  Multiple permits can be purchased if you have more than one load and can be used at any time as there is no expiration date.

Vehicle to be used must have a current Trash Sticker, must be registered to a Braintree resident and is non-transferable.   Commercial and Condo residents are not eligible.  The “One-Load Permit” is only valid at the Braintree Residential Drop-Off Center.  The permit cannot be used at the Covanta Transfer Facility.

Excessive trash that is generated by cleanouts due to moving, periodic 'house cleanings' or construction projects must be disposed of by renting a dumpster.
